The University Master’s in European Medieval Identity is open to those students interested in specialising in medieval studies, especially in research. This course culminates the cooperation between leading research groups from 5 universities: the University of Lleida (coordinator),the Autonomous University of Barcelona,the University of Girona,the Rovira i Virgili University andthe University of Murcia.
The Master’s degree starts with an educational and didactic vocation aimed at involving the students in a culture of research and innovation, as well as making them aware of and equipping them with the resources and tools to work with the range of medieval heritage. The procedures and values involved in the teaching of this degree will guide the students towards knowledge of the processes of leadership in research, coordination and teamwork, self-teaching, communication, self-criticism and management of information and research.
The syllabus of the master’s links to the current and future challenges in research into European identity, from a fully multidisciplinary outlook. Thus, the students will follow an innovative syllabus with subjects that cater to the range of disciplines that study the European Middle Ages. So, this Master’s degree is a guarantee of expert training in the “Historical construction of Europe”, “Artistic exchanges and diffusion in Europe” or “Languages and literatures in the Middle Ages”.
The 43 professors specialised in the medieval period who teach this master’s degree all have wide experience and prestigious research careers.
Teaching is exclusively on-line. This is designed to: give personalised teaching directly from the teacher’s office to each student’s own study; achieve a universal classroom, with the digital platform equipped to allow contact between students from a wide international field; make these studies compatible with professional and family life. The vehicular language of the degree del master’s is Spanish but in some subjects, the teaching staff may propose the use of Catalan or English.
