Master's degree in European Medieval Identity

Objectives and competences

The Master's Degree in Medieval European Identity, in accordance with the normative framework of the European higher education sector, promotes competencies that refer to the professional training of future researchers. These are divided into two types: general and specific.

 

GENERAL SPECIFIC

CG1.- Apply the acquired knowledge and the new problem-solving capacity to new or connected environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the new study area.

CE1.- Recognize the existence of historiographic debates in research on the Middle Ages.
CG2.- Develop capacities to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. CE2.- Carry out analysis in the research process on identities in the Middle Ages.
CG3.- Acquire skills in communicating your conclusions – and the knowledge and ultimate reasons that support them – to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.

CE3.- Deepen the concepts of identity, memory and ideology in the European Middle Ages.

CG4.- Develop learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous, which entails the acquisition of continuous training habits.

CE4.- Advance in the knowledge of the contributions of the medieval period in the construction of Europe.

CG5. Incorporate rigor in work approaches, methods and drawing conclusions from a scientific and ethical point of view. CE5.- Deepen the knowledge of the medieval period through the contributions of history, art history, literature and language.

CG6. Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context.

CE6.- Apply interdisciplinarity as a valid and transversal instrument in the study of Medieval European Identity.
  CE7.- Explore new research strategies around the medieval period and raise hypotheses in the field of Medieval European Identity.
 

CE8.- Apply methodological techniques to interpret documentary, material and iconographic sources.

 

CE9.- Manage, improve and apply the knowledge provided regarding ICT resources with a view to the preparation, presentation and communication of historical data, documents, images and reports related to the Middle Ages.

 

CE10- Promote teamwork, as well as coordinate and lead scientific initiatives related to the Middle Ages.

 

 

CE11- Use the terminology and communication techniques accepted by historiography and the disciplines involved.
